SUPPORTING YOUR CHANGING BODYPrenatal Chiropractic Care Throughout Pregnancy
Your body goes through an incredible amount of change during pregnancy. Your hormones shift, and your nervous system requires optimal adaptability as your body creates a new system from scratch. As your baby grows, your center of gravity shifts, your pelvis adapts, ligaments become more flexible, and the muscles surrounding your spine and hips have to work differently to support you.
For many moms, those changes can show up as heightened emotions and anxiety, increased tension, stiffness, difficulty getting comfortable, or discomfort through the low back, hips, pelvis, and surrounding areas.
Prenatal chiropractic care at Apex focuses on helping your nervous system, neurospinal system, and pelvis adapt to those changes as efficiently as possible as you prepare for birth. Adjustments are gentle and modified specifically for pregnancy, with your comfort guiding every visit.
PREGNANCY-SPECIFIC CAREWhat Is the Webster Technique?
The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic assessment and adjustment commonly used throughout pregnancy. It focuses on the sacrum, pelvis, and surrounding neuro-biomechanical function to identify and address areas that may not be moving or functioning optimally.
In plain language, the goal is to help the pelvis function as well as possible while your body changes and prepares for birth.
Webster care includes gentle adjustments along with attention to the muscles and ligaments surrounding the pelvis to help create a luxury environment for your growing baby. There is no forceful twisting or aggressive adjusting involved, and everything is adapted to your stage of pregnancy.
The Webster Technique is sometimes incorrectly described as a technique for “turning” a breech baby. It isn't. Chiropractors do not manually reposition babies. Webster care is focused on the mother's pelvic and neuro-biomechanical function. When moms nervous system is readily adaptable, and the pelvis can move freely, it gives baby the most space and highest chance to go to the optimal head down position.
Many expecting moms choose to incorporate neuro-tonal chiropractic and Webster Technique chiropractic care throughout pregnancy as part of their broader prenatal and birth support team.
CARE FOR MAMAWebster-Certified Chiropractors Who Understand Pregnancy
Pregnancy deserves more than a standard chiropractic adjustment.
Apex Chiropractic is run by Dr. Kirsten and Dr. Jared, a husband-and-wife team who are also parents themselves. Both have pursued advanced pediatric training beyond chiropractic school including formal coursework through The Pediatric Experience and the International Pediatric Chiropractic Association (ICPA).
We take the time to understand your conception and pregnancy history, what you're experiencing now, your previous pregnancies or births when relevant, and what matters to you as you prepare for your baby's arrival.
Our goal is for you to understand what we're seeing, why we're recommending care, and how it fits into the bigger picture of your pregnancy.

WHAt to expectOur 5 Step Process
-
STEP ONE is scheduling a Consultation.Your first visit starts with a detailed consultation about your health, pregnancy, current concerns, and goals. We want to understand how your pregnancy has been going and what brought you to Apex before making any recommendations.
If you've had previous pregnancies or births, that history can also give us important context about how your body is adapting this time around.
-
STEP TWO is taking a closer look at how your nervous system and body are adapting.
When appropriate, we use our non-invasive INSiGHT scanning technology alongside a chiropractic examination to establish an objective baseline of nervous system and muscular function.
For prenatal patients, we also pay close attention to spinal, sacral, and pelvic function so we can understand the complete picture rather than simply adjusting wherever something feels uncomfortable.
-
STEP THREE is figuring out an exact, customized Care Plan. No two pregnancies are exactly alike, and prenatal chiropractic shouldn't be one-size-fits-all either.
We combine your history, goals, examination, and scan findings to determine what type of care makes sense for you, including the recommended frequency and duration.
Your plan can also change as your pregnancy progresses and your body's needs change.
-
STEP FOUR is sitting down with one of our doctors at what’s called the Report of Findings visit. We'll walk you through your assessment and INSiGHT scan results in plain language, explain what we recommend, and answer your questions before moving forward.
We want you to understand your care rather than simply being told what to do.
-
STEP FIVE is getting started with Adjustments. Prenatal adjustments are gentle and specifically adapted to your body and stage of pregnancy. Webster Technique and other chiropractic approaches may be used depending on what your assessment shows and what is appropriate for you.
As your pregnancy progresses, positioning and techniques are continually modified to keep you comfortable.
Our focus throughout care is supporting better neuro-biomechanical function, mobility, and your body's ability to adapt to the physical demands of pregnancy.
Our Advanced techNon-Invasive Neurological Scans
Pregnancy places new physical and neurological demands on your body every week.
At Apex Chiropractic, we use technology called INSiGHT scans to assess how the nervous system is functioning relaying objective information that lets us personalize care and track how your child responds over time.
-
Heart Rate Variability (HRV)
✓ Non-Invasive
✓ Side-Effect Free
✓ Pediatric + Pregnancy Safe
The HRV scan measures how the nervous system is holding up to stress. It also calculates the balance of the autonomic nervous system — whether someone might be stuck on the “gas pedal” or the “brake pedal”. Additionally, we get a clear read on how the parasympathetic nerves, like the Vagus nerve, are functioning. -
Rolling Thermography
✓ Non-Invasive
✓ Side-Effect Free
✓ Pediatric + Pregnancy Safe
Our Rolling Thermography (NeuroThermal) scan takes many different points of temperature along your spine. We see this as our “deep heat” test, as inflammation and nerve interference can cause increases in temperature side-to-side. -
Static Electromyography
✓ Non-Invasive
✓ Side-Effect Free
✓ Pediatric + Pregnancy Safe
Static Electromyography (sEMG) helps to measure how nerves are communicating with the spinal muscles that maintain posture. This can also help to give us an overall muscle energy efficiency, which often leads to fatigue and muscle imbalances.
